But first, the old house must go!
What an exciting day! The beginning of a new adventure and I was watching with as much enthusiasm as the 2 & 4 yr old boys across the street, because really, it was pretty awesome! I wasn’t surprised by the power and strength of the excavator, but I was a little shocked at how dainty it’s first was. Slowly but surely the old house fell, first from the central roofline, out to the side walls, then the excavator knocked them in too, including the fireplace chimney and furnace stack. At one point to reach the back wall the excavator compacted the remains of the old house into the near portions of the basement, then rolled right over top. Within 45 minutes the excavator reached the back wall and collapsed it on top of the rest of the rubble, which filled what used to be the basement....
